It`s not that bad
Granted, it`s very low-key but it is well done and the music has a haunting quality to it. I would not completely trash this.

If you put aside the following:
a meteor improbably lodges in Paul's skull and turns him into lizard man
a terrible folk music interlude that has no purpose or value
atrocious acting
ludicrous special effects
tasteless overreliance on zooms, time-lapse and other 70s B-film standbys
You have nothing left.
Yup. This film is bad. That bad.
Skinner, a lot of films have had all the things you mention and still manage to be fun films. I think what Track of the Moon Beast really lacks is any kind of theme or message. Plan 9 From Outer Space, as silly as that is, has a warning about humans' tendency to destroy themselves with their technology. It pulls the film together, gives it some shape. Moon Beast is just about a hunk in the wrong place at the wrong time, and there's nothing anybody can do for him except help him self destruct faster.
shareI don't think it's bad at all. People just like to exaggerate a lot. No, it isn't even close to the best movie I've ever seen but that doesn't mean it's bad. I was very surprised to see the 1.9 rating because I think it's worthy of at least a 5 or 6.
I've been waiting for you, Ben.
