Who saw this before MST3K?

I rented it on video when i was 8 and thought it was a piece of crap, thank god for MST3K.

I just watched this movie today and didn't know it was featured on MST3K until I came to this board. Some of the effects may not have been the best, but storywise it was pretty good. I don't see the reason for all the hate.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

You're daft.

Or I rate movies based on how much fun I have watching them. As long as I'm not bored that's all that matters to me. It doesn't have to be well made, thought provoking, or sophisticated, just entertaining.

The acting is some of the worst I've seen in any movie ever, and the script itself is just as bad.

Despite having an interesting premise and Rick Baker, it deserves every ounce of hate it receives IMHO.

I believe I saw this years ago. I own a couple copies in random DVD box sets because it's public domain, but honestly I can't remember my opinion of it without thinking of the MST3K version. Not one of my favorite episodes, but there's a few good riffs, and the film itself has a neat idea. A lizard twist to the whole werewolf lore.

These were the kind of movies I'd watch as a kid. The local independent TV stations would play back-to-back-to-back movies starting at Noon on Saturdays and Sundays. Most were bad horror or really bad attempted drama. I saw Alligator, Squirm and Kingdom of the Spiders, but not Track of the Moon Beast.

It wasn't until Mst3k that I discovered the natural health benefits of corn, chicken, green pepper, chile, (sigh)onions....

I rented this one on VHS back in the late 1980's. I refuse to watch the Mystery Science Theater version; I absolutely despise that hateful show!

Oh come now, for many mistied movies, the first time they turned a profit was when they were shown on MST3K. This film would languish, completely forgotten if not for the fact that they chose it.

Putting any art into the public sphere for appreciation make it equally susceptible to scorn and lampooning, that's the risk all artists take.
