Is this out on DVD yet?

Actually I noticed on one of the other boards that a poster from that area "Texarkana" was saying that Charles Pierce had fallen on hard times financially. Also according to Amazon the "offical" version of The Legend of Boggy Creek was just released and the release of The Barbaric Beast of Boggy creek is upcomming and these are both Charles Pierce films so maybe a release of The Town That Dreaded Sundown is in the works. I remember seeing previews of The Town that Dreaded Sundown in movie theaters and thinking that looks to scary for me! Of course I was only 12 at the time and now I regret not having ever seen it and I am hoping that it comes out on DVD soon!

To answer your question ericstar80, I don't know, I've never seen it on DVD in the Blockbusters I go into every so often. But I hope it is, because in the first video store we ever joined, I often went in there from 1983 to August, 1986 and often saw it on VHS, but never thought to get it out, but then did one day in mid August, 1986, right before going off to begin college, and watched it a few times then and really did like it. I then rented it out some over the following years to again watch it, it made my top 100 movies of all time list, and since watching it the first time I often wished I'd gotten it out and watched from that store earlier in the 1980s. As for what bluesquest wrote, and the reason I came on here, after seeing it a few times I did remember, ironically, that in December, 1976/January, 1977 while watching late night TV with my father (8, in 3rd grade) TV trailers for this movie came on, I thought they were scary but then never saw anything from this again until renting it out, but then I remembered very well these trailers over 10 1/2 years earlier, and that they were from this movie. And I do remember what the trailer narrator said in them, and some of the scenes shown (especially the one when the killer appears in the window behind Floyd Reed and points his gun).
