A Most Unlikely Double-Feature

This film was actually the second of two that I saw one fine evening in 1977 with my dad at the famous Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, before it became redone as a music venue. The first film was the cult-classic hockey comedy, "Slapshot," which starred Paul Newman.

My first post so bear with me. When I saw this movie the other feature that was shown with it was Last House on the Left. I was 15 at the time and was with my brother (13), my stepfather and my mother.
It was one of my first experiences with an R rated movie. After those two movies I definitely looked at the world differently. They kind of freaked me out. It was also a bit embarassing watching them with my mother present as well. The theater I saw them in was in New York City. I believe on 42nd street (unsure),we use to go to the city alot to see these double features. I also saw the Getaway (Steve McQueen) and that Judge Roy Bean movie (Paul Newman).
Anyway I was just researching this movie on the internet and the history behind it and found it very interesting that it was based on a true story. I then stumbled on to your thread and thought you might like to hear my story. I think I would of enjoyed Slapshot as the other feature instead of Last House on the Left but I had no control of that.

I saw this on several double features at the drive-in during the eighties.

This awesome movie was billed varously with the Last House On the Left, Rolling Thunder, Holy Wednesday, No Mercy Man, and a couple of others. I'm pretty sure it played once with the first two Friday the Thirteenth movies.

Sometimes it was the main feature, sometimes the second (or third). Great drive in movies, all of them.

I saw this at a walk-in and the other feature was "Dogs".. kind of a canine version of "The Birds".

Man, great memories of the drive-in double feature horror movies!
This was back when you could bring in a cooler full of beers, maybe some snacks, and light up a doobie without having to worry about nosy people with cell phones calling the cops on you! Lol - No undercover cops (or worse, 'security guards'!) walking around, looking inside cars for 'drinkers', which these days, would probably be an arrestable offense! ;) (They'd probably try to make it a 'DUI', even though you were parked!)
It just sucks that the whole era is gone now. No more Drive-Ins, no more decent horror films like they used to make, and ya can't go anywhere without being scrutinized by cops - or the odd nosey neighbor! ;(
