Cool killer...great title...effective setting - frigging boring movie!!

This was so painful to sit through! So ineffective as a slasher/thriller. It does not compare to great horror of the 70's like Halloween or Texas Chainsaw. No wonder no one remembers this!!

it was a poorly made with feeble attempts at jokes that were wholly inappropriate.

I agree, it had a lot going for it but this was mind-numbingly boring and pointless - I like true crime movies usually especially ones set in this sort of time period but the film was terrible, the attempts at comedy were so jarring and out of place urgh

reply

Yup! I had to finish it in three sittings. I found myself just playing a game on my phone most of the time.

But you can listen to a Lana Del Rey album from start to finish? Talk about boring, uninspired and a chore to get through. It's funny what one will bash and then tolerate because it's "new".

...it's an appeal to the OP's (lack of) taste. Do you regularly need people to explain such connections?

reply

Not agreeing with the majority here. I thought it was gritty and suspenseful. I've seen way more boring films, usually art house ones that get rave reviews. This was like a roller coaster ride compared to a Haneke film.

You're right, it's no Halloween or Texas Chain Saw Massacre. But then again very, very few horror films are able to stand up to those two. I never expected it to. I think it's still a good, creepy movie. The comic relief made it feel sort of like The Last House on the Left with it's two inept cops always getting into awkward situations. It did feel out of place but that's one of the weird, quirky charms. Overall, I really like this movie and the fact that it was based on a true story makes it even creepier.
