How major a role does she plays in the movie? How much of the movie is she in it?

Nastassja has one of the lead roles in the film and she has a lot of screen-time, roughly as much as Richard Widmark or Christopher Lee. The only reason she was billed below the likes of Denholm Elliot, Honor Blackman and Michael Goodliffe on the credits was because she was a young unknown when it was made in 1976, but those actors’ roles are actually little more than cameos. Nastassja is great in this film, she looks typically gorgeous and she even has a quite lengthy full-frontal nude scene so if you’re a fan, this is a key film to check out. It’s also pretty dark and scary in places, if you happen to enjoy those old-fashioned Hammer horror movies.

I finally get to see the movie. Got the DVD from amazon.com. Before I start watching, I was expecting some silly horror story with one of those lousy ending, but I was quite surprised that it was not a bad movie, better than most of other crappy movies that Nastassja Kinski was in. Nastassja Kinski was absolutely cute in her teen years. Though I don't understand why that full-frontal was necessary to be shown, it was beautiful sight nevertheless. Two other scenes that I found her extremely sexy. The first one is when she roll in the bed moaning in pain while the devil was born in the church. The second is when she licked her lips during the ritual. This is really is a dream movie for any adorer of Nastassja Kinski. Thanks for the description and recommendation.

Popular opinion is that the 1959 date is incorrect, and was probably a lie given to US immigration officials to cover up the fact that she was underage while in a relationship with Roman Polanski. Wikipedia states that her birth date was in 1961 and is apparently verified by German records, it is also the date that she claims.

LOL nastassja seems to be nude/topless in all of her early roles. No wonder she originally lied about her DOB.

14/15 or not, it was this movie which really gave her a name. The Kinski household must have been an interesting one in which to grow up.🐭

Nastassja Kinski was excellent as the sweet and innocent Catherine; she made for a very fair maiden in distress and her full-frontal nude scene towards the picture's end was quite memorable.

Don't expect much and you will never be disappointed.

You have to give her credit for taking on such a challenging and controversial role at her age. This was only her second film. It is thought that she lied about her age to get the part. She claimed she was 17, but may have actually have been as young as 15. Her father Klaus Kinski, consulted on the film. So she took on the role with his consent. I know that her more risque scenes were filmed in Germany. Possibly the laws regarding this sort of thing were less strict there.
