To dmaloney-2,

Did you ever find a copy of The Tenth Level? I would like one also. I am a research professor and think the movie would engage students. JB

reply

I'd be curious about getting a copy as well.. I'm a psych student currently studying Milgram's experiments...

I remember this film (actually, it was shot on videotape, as I recall) vividly
for two reasons. One was the subject matter. We had studied about the real
life professor that this was based on in my psychology class in Community College
one year prior (1974). Two, it was the very first program from television
that I ever recorded on a home videotape machine, an old Betamaxx that would
only record two hours at a time, and weighed a ton (those machines were called
"boat anchors"). I could kick myself for not keeping this, as I have never
seen it (officially) released to videotape and/or DVD. If anyone knows where
I could purchase this (legally), please let me know.

Years later, I met William Shatner at a local Sci-Fi, Star Trek "Convention."
I asked him about some of his other (extensive) work, but did not have time
to get around to asking him about "The Tenth Level" and whether he himself had
a copy. Oh well--Maybe I'll meet him again someday and be able to ask him.

I also remembered this film and a friend of mine was studying Milgram's experiment. I told her about this film. It would be nice to pick up a copy somewhere.

reply

Don't bother. "The Experimenter" has got to be a better film. Milgram was not fully behind the fictionalised account that is "10th level"

reply

It's free on YouTube. As of this date of posting.

After many, many inquiries about this film, I finally decided to put together a DVD for it - complete with menus and scene selection. You can get your hands on a copy here: http://kunaki.com/sales.asp?PID=PX00ZETLR5&pp=1
