Travis at the gun range

Yeah he’s shooting a smith and Wesson 29 with one hand on double action his target is at least 20 yards out and he’s hitting it dead on, I’m calling BS on that, the recoil from that thing is pretty legit and it’s considered to be one of the most powerful handguns ever made

He was just good. It's possible. I've seen my dad and others shoot that well, in the traditional one-handed style.

But as we all know, leaning the gun ninety degrees sideways makes it even more lethal, especially if you hold it way up high and sort of point it down.

reply

Unless he had .44 special in there I'm calling BS

reply

Call whatever you want. Until fairly recent years the two-handed style was not the norm. Handguns of all calibers were usually shot with one hand. There were plenty of good marksmen using that technique.

reply

Still calling BS unless it was .44 special

reply

even if he's ex-military.. (?) i can't remember exactly. that scene always struck me as very stupid.

story-wise he could just hold it with 2 hands and the plot will be OK
but i guess when ya gotta FLEX ya gotta FLEX

reply

Again if he loaded it with .44 Special I can buy that because .44 Special has pretty low recoil. .44 Magnum though, no you're gonna need two hands.
