It's pretty wild how good TV movies were during the 1970s

Seriously, no other decade has had so many awesome TV movies or mini series . And I actually keep finding stuff all the time that I never saw before.

Can you guys list some of your favorite TV movies from the 70s I want to see if there's stuff that I missed.

There are many, it's true.

For starters, check out THE DIARY OF MISS JANE PITTMAN with Cicely Tyson, and LOVE AMONG THE RUINS with Hepburn & Olivier, and STRANGERS: THE STORY OF A MOTHER & DAUGHTER with Bette Davis.

So many more...

Both from the 80s, not the 70s. And they were mini-series, not movies.

It certainly was awesome. And the music also.

There were so many! My mom used to let my sister and I stay up late when there was a good Sunday Night at the Movies. The Boy in the Plastic Bubble, Mary Jane Harper Cried Last Night, Bermunda Depths. Those were a few of our favorites! I miss the 70s :(

Well, the 1970s were the last gasp of the monopoly of the three major networks, before cable became widespread and "diluted" everything. So they had the money to do awesome TV movies and mini-series. Some of these series or movies were "awesome" because the writers were pretty fast and loose with the truth. Or just flat out lied. Which is not surprising when big money is involved.
