The Dancing Chicken

As a child in the early 70's I went to Cherokee, NC and Gatlenburg, TN. They both had these amusment parks that had the dancing chickens and other animals performing tricks for a quarter. I guess Herzog was impressed with the absurdity of these stores as I was.

True, but Herzog also has a "dumb/absurd animals" theme running through his bitter filmography. Dumb lizards in "Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call, New Orleans," dumb grizzlies in "Grizzly Man," those repulsive little monkeys in "Aguirre, The Wrath Of God," the dancing chicken, etc...
