DVD Commentary Track

Try to listen to the accompanying track on the DVD -- it's Rafelson, Bridges and Field all together (a treat in itself) and they have an entertaining and fond discussion of the film.

Too bad it has no Arnold though.

reply

Agreed 100%. But it's still pretty cool.

Do they comment about Arnold and what he went on doing in his career? Do they have fond memories of him?

reply

I'll watch it again tonite with the Commentary and get back to you. I think they do talk about him a bit, but it's been a couple years so I can't say for sure.

Thank you very much. Let me know when you'll be done!

Sorry it took so long to respond; It was my anniversary weekend so I've been busy. They do talk about Arnold on the commentary, but maybe not as much as if he was with them participating. They usually confine their discussions to either who/what is on the screen or something relating to the scene, so there are obviously opportunities there for them to speak about Arnold.

Don't worry...I know anyone has his own things to do....I thank you very much for kindness! A question: do they talk about something particular about him?

reply

Yeah, they mention a few facts; some related to his goals at the time, some related to his approach to acting in general, some things in regards to specific scenes and how he handled it.

Could you tell me what they say, please?

I have viewed Arnold's film list on IMDB. I was just wondering, was this a transitional period in Arnold's life from bodybuilding competitions, or was he just messing around in Hollywood to begin in movie career? I do know he won the Mr. Universal title in 1980 while Conan The Barbarian was put on hiatus due to a writer's strike in Hollywood. Also, that is a very good commentary track for Stay Hungry. Very informative from the director and Jeff and Sally. It's too bad Sally hasn't done a commentary for Norma Rae(79) and Paces In The Heart (84). Same for Jeff. I wish he would do a commentary track for Starman (84) and The Fabulous Baker Boys (89). It's also a shame Arnold hasn't done a commentary track for The Terminator (84), Commando (85), Predator (87) and The Running Man (87)
