Cheesy and cliche breakdown moment

...following John's death, Babs thinks she hears her husband, back from the dead apparently. (She should have been worried he was a zombie and hungry for her brains.)

And then she sits down on the steps...

...and out comes the cheddar, gouda, swiss, havarti, et al.

Her "breakdown" dialogue while listening to (and ultimately destroying) the cassette was hilarious, pedestrian and cliche. We've heard those sentiments in many a made-for-TV movie. (I was half expecting Meredith Baxter Birney or Michele Lee to show up.)

Whoever wrote that part of the script deserves a spanking for unoriginal -- albeit completely amusing -- dialogue.

I'll give Babs credit for totally committing herself to the drivel dialogue...but it was her conviction that made it over-the-top funny.
