Aieeee, MUST KNOW

Before they do Black Dog, they do a nice, little number. I don't think it's from a song, I think it might be some kickass warm-up. But if it is some rare-ass song, could someone fill me in please?

Ive heard on many live bootlegs that Zep would play the opening few bars of "Out On The Tiles" from Led Zep 3 as the intro to Black Dog

reply

"Out on the Tiles" was played as an intro to Black Dog on the "How the West Was Won" live album. However, the intro to Black Dog in the movie is the middle section of "Bring it on Home."

No dude, it Is out On the Tiles. I really liked that intro too and i couldent figure it out. Its out on the tiles for sure.

I've got a few live versions of Black Dog that feature the intro to Out On The Tiles, including the How The West Was Won version. But on The Song Remains The Same, they use the middle section from Bring It On Home, roughly around the 1.43 mark in the song. I prefer the How The West Was Won version personally.

"I'm drownin' here and you're describing the water!"

100000000% sure it is Bring it on Home...yes they did out on the tiles sometimes, sometimes they started Moby Dick with Out on the Tiles in a sequence during the 77 tour called Over the Top....but this is definatly Bring it On Home
