Is this the movie I saw over thiry years ago? SPOILERS
It was a movie with a corrupt sheriff after a man and woman. He kills one of their friends by dropping him into a snakepit with venomous snakes. I believe that it is same movie that ends with cops shooting woman as she is getting out of car or off motorcycle and the man manages to run close enough to sheriff to shoot and kill him despite being shot at least a dozen times.
