If a remake is made.
Who should portray the role of JB Books.
My options are Clint Eastwood or Bruce Dern
Interesting idea. My vote would go to Jeff Bridges since he did a good job playing the Duke in the remake of True Grit.
Eastwood is an interesting choice as well but Dern is definitely out. After all he has not only mostly played bad guys, he also shot the unarmed Duke down in The Cowboys.
That's one "if" that should _never_ be considered! Especially after the fiasco with Jeff Bridges.

shareIt would really require an actor with enough identification with western films to make it work. That pretty much leaves us with Clint Eastwood at this point. Clint is much older than Wayne was when this was made though, and many thought Wayne was too old for the part. To look at a similar film in another genre, I always hoped someone would remake Targets, with either Christopher Lee or Vincent Price. Both are gone now and there are no actors left with enough connection to the horror genre to make the film work.
It is not our abilities that show who we truly are...it is our choices
A remake would be pointless, but if they just had to, I would suggest Nick Nolte.
