Maybe the book did cover far more detail, but tough to imagine the authorities not getting wind of the whole thing before the week was up. After all, this was centered around a smallish town?

Still, it was better than I expected. Very much an old school testosterone flick. Charles Bronson could've easily done the lead for this.

I read the book about a year before the movie came out, and as I recall, the protagonists did not come from the area where the initial shooting took place. They seem to have been pretty much in the clear.
