Decent low budget thriller...

I saw this in the movies with a friend back then when I was a kid. The witch creeped me out as well as the white Indian mask & the spells, rituals and nightime shots while the group was traveling also on their journey. That was chilling to a kid. I'd say it's underrated.

For sure, I remember this film totally creeped me out as a kid, but I still found it fascinating.

I think the car was rigged to come apart at an abrupt stop, and perhaps a cable was across the road to catch the car. That would be my guess anyhow. Whatever the case, it is a really cool effect and much more convincing than what they do with CGI these days.

I thought the acting was decent. I was glad that the story took the Indian legends seriously rather than presenting it in tongue and cheek style. I really enjoyed seeing it again after all of these years.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

Well, there are old movie tricks that are basically all about angle and lighting (and painting out wires) to cleverly hide wires that accomplished a great deal back in the day. You never know, if this film were restored and watched in high quality, we may see lots of wires and such all of a sudden show up. I have seen that happen with other films before when they debuted on DVD!
