AVOID the DVD releases

I've compared the U.S. and U.K. DVD releases of this film, and although the print quality and video transfers are excellent, both should be avoided for the following reasons:

1. The U.S./Kino release has been artificially cropped for a 1.66:1 widescreen ratio...WRONG! This movie was shot full-frame Academy ratio (1.33:1), and the cropping not only cuts into the tops of heads quite often (or cuts heads off entirely), but during the infamous slow motion pool scene with Anthony and Justin, you don't see Justin's erection. Video companies needs to STOP creating "widescreen" versions of movies which were never meant to be widescreen.

2. The U.K. release is the same running time and quality...but Justin's erection has been artificially removed during the pool scene because as he starts to turn around, there is a slow and slight zoom in on the screen image...which prevents his erection from being seen in that release also.

You're better off sticking with older full-frame VHS releases if you want to see this great movie correctly and UNCENSORED. Thank goodness I still have my old 80's VHS tape.

There's also the option of watching the original uncut, full screen version on Netflix. Minus the subtitles though.
