What happens if Rocky beat Apollo in their first fight?

How would Apollo Creed have dealt with that if Rocky Balboa had fought back enough to knock Apollo out in their first match because Apollo didnt take the fight seriously?

Then Rocky becomes the new world champion by a miracle and Apollo looks like a total idiot for treating him like a bum and second rate fighter, Apollo was angry enough that Rocky went the distance with him but if he lost their fight he would be flipping out.

I would have loved to see that happen, Apollo took his second match loss well but losing in the first fight? He would have a heart attack and get mocked on every street corner, it would bankrupt him too.

Apollo would've been sorely disappointed in himself. He was very prideful.

I would assume that Apollo would behave as he did in Rocky 2 by taunting him to get back in the ring for a rematch.

Remember when Rocky knocked Apollo down with his first punch. Imagine if that turned out to be a knockout. If so Apollo would have been so humiliated he would have most likely committed suicide

Creed elected for a rematch after he won. I’m sure a rematch would’ve been in the cards had he lost, a chance to get his title back from the ultimate underdog AND NEW! heavyweight champion Rocky Balboa.

Maybe Mack Lee Green gets the first shot at the winner of the rematch, with his hand properly healed (iirc, Green is one of Balboa’s 10 title defenses as mentioned in III). Buddy Shaw can get some too if he’s still ranked 5th and lost his gut and the 50 pounds. I wish Rock wouldve gave a shot to Dipper (who Mick called ‘a climber…a contender’ when he said Rocky was “a tomato’). Dipper took The Italian Stallion’s spot in the locker room and clowned him: “hey hat, I dig your locker , man…”. Oh yeah, dig this punchy, who’s the champ and who’s the chump now, fool?!?!?

It would not be as good a movie. Going the distance with the champ is what mattered, giving it everything he had.
