The Quest

I would like to see the complete TV seires come out on DVD to buy. Not just the two that shows on The Western channel every now and then, but the whole series. May be if we all get together someone would lesson I'm tired of SEX on every channel. I would like to see some good entertanment for a change. At least in the Old TV Westerns the bad guys got what was coming to them not just walk away.

I entirely agree with yor first sentence, Linda. I have been waiting for 30 years to see the final episodes, which were not broadcast in the UK due to power cuts. If anyone knows that it has been is or is soon to be released please let me know!! I have a number of friends in the UK who are in the same position!

I seem to recall that The Quest was not without its sexy moments, e.g. Susan Dey getting ravished in one episode, and a damsel-in-distress getting saved just in time in another.

We got all the episodes in Ireland in the 70s, even some listed at not shown in the USA. I don't know how that came about.

Very good show.

That's because the series was cancelled in America before all of the filmed episodes had a chance to air, a not uncommon occurance. At least four episodes were filmed but never broadcast in the USA.

This series may have lacked the blatant sex that was just coming into vogue in the late 1970's tv but it surely had two of the sexiest actors ever, Tim Matheson and Kurt Russell, at the peak of their handsomeness. Tim is unbelievably gorgeous in that cowboy garb and Kurt also looks fantastic albeit looking more like a latterday California surfer dude than someone raised by Indians in the 1800s.

I totally agree. I loved this series but never got to see the ending. Did they ever find their sister? I've love to see the whole series from beginning to end without missing any episodes. How do we find the series. Someone must have it somewhere. I'm also trying to find: "Rich Man, Poor Man" the series with Nick Nolte and Richard Strauss, and the series, "Roots", and there was a series about early American settlers, I think called the Emigrants and The Bastards. Also there was a series with Pierce Brosnan called "The O'Mannions of America" Pierce played Rory O'Mannion, I loved it.

No, they never found her but then I wouldn't imagine they ever would, it would kill the premise of the show and at the least invalidate the series title. THE QUEST was set up to be a conventional American weekly television series, spanning several seasons if it had been popular. It was not a limited mini-series with a resolution like the other programs you mention or in the format of many limited-episode UK series. They no doubt would have gone for years without finding her if it had been a hit. NBC however cancelled the show due to low ratings within four months.

As the show got canned in the USA, I always assumed the sister was never found.

Its that man again!!
