Robert carradine was so reticules in this movie kind of crazy that all the *beep* they did in the movie would never pass today.Com on they steal a firetruck!

That is exactly what I was going to mention about on a thread here or a post about the firetruck being stolen. Now back in the 70's they would have just warned the high school kids not to do it again and look at it as a harmless prank. Now a days they would be in jail or junenile hall for doing something like that.
Also the spray painting on the cars as well. That is a classic right there! I was born in 1972 so I grew up around the neighborhood with older kids that were teenagers at this time. I could remember them fixing up their vans and all. I also grew up with kids that were my age also so it helped out as well.

I guess it's probably because they eradicated continous high rise of crime in USA (starting from the death of Kennedy), by discovering in 1990s that if you react to innocuous acts of hooliganism right at the beginning stops much serious crime later.
It is amazing what drugs and alcohol done to teenagers. Only 10 years earlier, kids were wearing tie and behave themselves, only to turn into selfish, loud, annoying hooligan brats. No wonder America plunged into unsafe and violent place in 1970s. share
