The fate of Max Rostock, the German SS commander at Lidice

The movie tells about the destruction of Lidice by the Nazis, in retaliation for the assassination of Heydrich.

In William Shirer's "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich", in the chapter on Lidice, he says that the commander of the German SS troops at Lidice was SS Colonel Max Rostock. Shirer also goes on to say that he was "hanged in Prague, 1951".

However in searching the internet, I can find only one article-- poorly translated from the Czech-- on Max Rostock. This article seems to say that Rostock was imprisoned in Czechoslovakia until 1960. He was then released and spent the rest of his life in Germany, where he died in 1986.

Can anyone clarify this information?
