most boring film!!

This was possibly the most boring film I have ever watched. I slept through most of it and have no recolection apart from some weird Chinesed people tried 2 knick dinosaurs and it was only just noticed by the museum people.

You're an idiot then. Its a gentle humourous romp the likes of which they don't make anymore. I loved it as a kid and still do.

This was one of the most memorable films of my childhood, and I hadn't seen it since it came out in the cinema in England when I was seven years old, until I was given a DVD of it again today, thirty-one years later. Although today it didn't have me rolling in the aisles or have me doing Peter Ustinov impressions for hours afterwards like it did back then, it still was a charmer, and it was simply just fun to watch. It deliberately encapsulates a bit of the paradoxically innocent yet bigoted flavour of England back in those times, and there are many little delicate touches for those with an appreciation for the idiosyncracies of the English. Peter Ustinov is the perfect person to be given license to run amok with his non-politically-correct character, considering he was one of the most well-read, culturally-sensitive intellectuals of his generation. The film left me with the wistful feeling and hope that here was the England and these were the kinds of adventures that we had when we were children. It's something wonderful to look back to, even though it probably only ever existed in imagination.

What utter bopkess. you could not be more wrong. Were you watching the same film I know and love, a heartwarming, visually stunning, rip-roaring comedy from the disney stable. THe mild racism has undeniable period charm. A delight!

It one of the classics! I still watch it as avidly today at 30 than I did back when I was a kid. It reminds of Christmas as it was always on on Christmas Eve. Just watching it again now on ITV, I have the DVD too! He He

You couldn't be more right! I've seen some bad films in my day but this is the absolute worst. It never should have been released.

I wanted to love this film. Helen Hayes is great in anything and Peter Ustinov was great in Blackbeard's ghost. I remember this movie begin dumb and boring.

Only saw it once (back when originally released in 1975) and all I can remember was that it was BORING. I went expecting something funny (to a 10 year old at the time) like Blackbeard's ghost and got... well... nothing.

If you say it's boring, then I seriously don't want to know what kind of trash you watch.

LOL by any chance was the starter of this thread's name "DUNCAN"?

Sounds like what my nephew-in-law said when my mom and I had introduced him to this film. He still goes on about "Won-Ton-Soup"

I hated this movie too! My sister and mom did too. We were SOOO bored that we walked out. This was the only time I ever had to walk out of a movie but The Deep was another one that I wanted to walk out of.
