ABC Friday Night at the Movies - March 1976

This is one of those movies that has haunted me since childhood. I watched this when I was 10 and I never saw it again so I only have my 10 year old memories of it but that last scene will stay with me forever. I probably should not have been watching this kind of movie at 10 years old but it was on the ABC Friday Night Movie. I did see the remake in 1986 with Margot Kidder and Mike Farrell but it just wasn't the same!! Would love to see it again!!

I also was 10 when i saw this and have never seen it since, it left such an impression and my father and I still talk about it and wish it would air on TV again, plus I'm also a huge Jack Klugman fan. I agree about the remake with Mike Farrell not being as good so I live in hope it will be shown again but I doubt after all this time it will ever air again.

Great movie - Like you, I saw it in 1976 (only I was just out of high school)- thanks to EBAY, I found a VHS of the film, and luckily for me, I was able to burn it to a DVD.

I like the Klugman version better than the remake, also!

My then wife and I watched it and were indeed on the edge of our seat until the end and never saw it coming. No, I am not going to give it away but have neve forgotten it.

This movie is often available on YouTube -- just type the title into the YouTube search bar. Not the best picture definition! But quite watchable nevertheless -- that's how I first experienced it.
