Against my own judgment I went to see a showing of this at Cinemark, I knew it would suck, dvd quality, small theater, moron people still eating 2/3 into the film with their gross sounds, etc, anyway, this film is absolute garbage. Boring, badly done, ugly looking. I know it was good at the time and it spawned a genre, however it didn't stand the test of time, so why is it still being hailed? Do people even know what The Jazz Singer is? it's only the first film with recorded sound. Nobody sees it anymore because it wasn't that good in the first place. Sometimes films are the first at something but they just aren't good enough, so just drop it. Why do pathetic 70's spawn movie critics still praise garbage like most 70's films? They are like the fanboy version of baby boomers. Give it up-.

It was pretty good/scary/whatever in its day. It really shows its age today, though.

well then let's forget about it. Why is it still being shown in 2018? There are SO MANY GREAT FILMS made, absolute jewels of filmmaking, some were flops upon release but they are all more worthy than this piece of crap.

The 1976 is a good movie. It's not a top shelf movie, but around a 7.5 rating. I saw it in a theater and it's probably tame in its violence by today's standards. Yet, it is well acted and directed.

"In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." 2 Corinthians 4:4

Satan is called the god of the world and prince of the air, so his son must be quite powerful just like Jesus is the son of God. The only supernatural Christians believe is in regards to this.

I'll have to check out the 2006 version when I can. It doesn't sound as appealing though.
