The Omen or The Exorcist

I much prefer The Exorcist,it is just a better crafted film with superior acting and just a better movie overall,even without the horror element.every time I watch it I see something I had not noticed before. whereas The Omen I had no real desire to see it again once I had seen it the first time(many years ago as a kid).I have seen it again over the years obviously but aside from Jerry Goldsmith`s score there is just nothing very special about it for me. The Exorcist is Mark Kermode's favorite movie I guess for a reason. I came to these boards though because I was listening to a podcast on The Omen movies(I prefer the two sequels for some reason)and found the stories relating to the Omen "curse" to be very interesting.

ps I am referring to the original Exorcist rather than the "Version You've Never Seen" and other reissues that have been released over the years.

I would agree that objectively, The Exorcist is the superior film. But personally I just prefer The Omen because (in my opinion) it has a better story and characters. But I know these two movies get compared a lot.

I agree that I like The Omen better. The story is amazing and the soundtrack gives me the chills. I love the acting. The mixture of religious scripture also gives the movie an edge.

I like them all but I'd take The Exorcist over The Omen. Though I'd take Rosemary's Baby over all three.
