SEQUEL??????

Does anybody know if their was every anything written by anyone that tells what happened Bobbie Lee Hartley after the point where the movie ends?? I don't know anyting about the book. I have never read it but I am trying to find it. If the rest of the story exists somewhere it would be interesting to read. Or if it doesn't, I think it would be a great idea for a story.

The book is simply a novelization of the movie's screenplay, written to capitalize on the movie's popularity. So nothing more is revealed than in the movie.

I don't know of a sequel but I know the book has more of an ending than the movie does.

"I've got a thumb, I've got a middle finger..."

How could they make a sequel? Billy Joe's dead. Benjamin the Doll is dead and mildewed. Bobbie Lee has sat up on Choctaw Ridge picking flowers for the last 59 years and dropping them into the muddy water off the Tallahatchie Bridge. Mama didn't want to do much of anything after Daddy died, so she keeled over from a broken heart. Dewey Barksdale is a dead queen who screwed up Billy Joe in the first place. Brother and his wife, Becky Thompson, had the store in Tupelo that went bankrupt because he was an a$$ to his customers and she was too stupid to keep the books straight. Preacher Brother Taylor had so many dinners at his congregation's various homes that he got so fat that he preached his last sermon....permanently and he's buried in the church graveyard.

So now that everyone is dead or doing nothing more than picking the danged flowers, what in the world could there possibly be a sequel about?

Besides, the Tallahatchie Bridge has long since been torn down (which now makes me wonder what Bobbie Lee thinks she is actually dropping flowers off of).

You've written the sequel. I expect Bobbie Lee eventually married some other guy and led a normal life.
