Cybill Shepard/Kathleen Cooke

Hmm, so Cybill Shepard turned down the role for Kathleen Cooke?

Was it because of the 'dutch damsel' dance routine?

Cribbed mostly from Jane Hitchcock's IMDb Biography:

Jane Hitchcock was the protégé of Wilhelmina, the famous Vogue model of the 1960s.

"She became friends with another model Cybill Shepherd after working together on an assignment. Cybill became a successful actress but was in a public relations mess when director Peter Bogdanovich left his wife for her. Columbia studio refused to cast Cybill in Bogdanovitch's film _Nickelodeon_ (1976) for a role he created especially for her. She was crushed but magnanimously recommended Jane for the role of the silent film actress."

Jane did only one other film, "See China and Die" a 1981 TV movie, preferring instead to concentrate upon her modelling career.
