not really goofs?

Anachronisms
The kitchen is in keeping with the period except for the double-door refrigerator/freezer with an ice-dispenser, first introduced in 1965. The Coke bottles seem modern. At that time "Coca-Cola", not "Coke" would have appeared on the bottles, more likely embossed than printed, and probably in a green bottle.

The film never actually states when it takes place. When Sam Diamond asks his secretary for the info on Twain she says he was born in 1906. at dinner Twain says he is 76. that would make the year the movie takes place as 1982. I know a lot of the stuff in the movie doesnt add up in reality and i take it for what it is, but going by that it could be the refrigerator and coke bottles are correct, and its just the characters who are a bit stuck in the past!

Excellent observation!

You can add the price of paperback novels to the list. Twain says they're about 2 bucks; that's a 1970s price, not a 1940s price. I mentioned that in the Trivia section.

I think its possible Neil Simon may have been deliberately creating anachronisms like these to add to the goofy atmosphere.

You have keen observation! You should be a detective!

Also not a goof - the thing about the maid who shouldn't be able to write a note to people she didn't even know were there. The maid was the host, after all.
