'70s workplace comedies

This film seems like the perfect bookend to "Car Wash," another terrific ensemble comedy with a diverse cast and a funky soundtrack.

In the '80s, we had movies like "Nine to Five," "Working Girl" and most Michael J. Fox films. More recently, we have have "Office Space" and "Waiting ..."

Can anyone name any other '70s workplace comedies? "Shampoo" comes to mind immediately, but it seems a somewhat loftier film.

EDIT: I just thought of another: "Hospital," an excellent satire with George C. Scott and Diana Rigg.

You mean "Airplane!"? That's 1980.

Also reminded me of the later ensemble comedies FM and D.C. Cab. Check those out if you get a chance. Neither's a great film, but they're definitely in the same spirit as MJS.

Good call on "FM" and "D.C. Cab." I've seen them both -- the latter in a nearly empty theater in 1983.

This also seems a kindred spirit to the "Police Academy" movies, but I think this is much better than those.
