Like David Janssen, too bad he ended up in this movie

Thought I'd take a chance and buy it from Warner Archives in the hope
it would be one of those TV movie gems I missed in the 70's. I like air
disaster flicks and TV has a done a few good ones. Also like David
Janssen and the director Robert Butler looked promising. But Mayday at
40,000 feet should have been pushed out of a plane at 40,000 feet.

I can't help but think that the folks who made the movie "Airplane" mined this one for tropes.

If you ever stop back by.

I heard it was a spoof they created after the brothers accidentally taped this movie.

They had taped one of the midnight movies looking for commercials to spoof.

I've seen it, it would be hilarious even without knowing what it led too.

I found this film to be a good deal of campy fun. Janssen was properly stalwart as the tough, but troubled captain of the plane.

I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find
