Anybody who has this on DVD? I saw it on tv here in Norway when I was a little girl and haven't been able to forget it! I loved it, and it never came back on! Please help me get my hands on it!

The pilot and the "first season" is scheduled to be issued in Scandinavia on November 4th by Pan Vision. I'm not sure if this is a first release of many worldwide. Could be a trial by licensing it to Scandinavia as it is very well liked over here.

Yay! This is really good news! I have been looking for this on video for as long as I can remember. I taped it from tv many years ago but it filled 24 vhs cassetes or so, and the quality wasn't really that good. Now I can enjoy the favourite show of my childhood again very soon. I hope it means that it will be released in Norway too, but if not I'll just buy the Swedish one.

Den kommer sannolikt innehålla norsk text liksom svensk, det brukar vara standard på de flesta nordiska dvd-utgåvor. Har den en norsk distributör så är det troligtvis samma skivor som i resten av norden.

Goda nyheter! Där är en norsk utgåva på CDON.NO. Den har samma cover som den svenska och är då samma utgåva med gemensamma textningsval fast med synopsis på norsk på omslaget istället för svenska.

Edit: Confirmed. This is indeed being sold in ALL of the Nordic countries - Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland with subtitles in each language. Looks like I will have to hop on the ferry to Denmark since the rest of you get it 2 months in advance...!

Picked up The Complete First Season set today in Denmark.
Disc 1 is the pilot "The Macahans".
Disc 2-4 are the 1977 mini-series.
Stats are as follows:
Region 0 (All) despite an R2 logo on the package
3-fold digipack with slipcase
1.33:1 aspect ratio
English Dolby Digital 2.0 Dual Mono
Danish & Norwegian subtitles (optional)
DVD-5 (SS-SL)
Average bitrate ranges from 3.9 (pilot) to 5.2
No extras of any kind and no easter eggs.
Not remastered, soft image with scratches and dropouts (old telecine master used?).
So nothing to shout about as far as audio and video quality are concerned but I reckon it is still preferred over the even lesser quality bootlegs that float around. The image while flawed is acceptable in my view.
