why wasn't Mia Farrow in this??

How come Ruth Gordon agreed to do this??? just because she thougth she'd win another oscar? is it tru that miaa rejected it because she wasn't nominated for an oscar in the original movie?
what about the other actors?

I can only guess why Mia Farrow wasn't in it, but I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that she didn't get an Oscar for the first film. It's probably because she either had a good agent who turned this script down sight unseen, or else she offered to do it for an exhorbitant amount of money and the producers turned her down. Whatever the reason, if you ever see the film, I'm sure you'll understand why she wasn't in it. Ruth Gordon was the only actor to return from the original. She was doing TV work at this point, so why not do "Look What's Happened to Rosemary's Baby"?

Until fairly recently the budgets for sequels were always cheaper as fewer people were expected to see them than the original. Part of the reason for this change was the fact that it has become much easier for people to see the original if they missed it at the cinema. You are less likely to see the sequel if you haven't seen the original and before home video your chances were limited.

Because of the lower budget stars would often not re-appear and there would often be more of a jobbing director as directing a sequel was a lower status gig.

Considering what a MESS this was, I'm sure Mia was glad that she wasn't in this trashy sequel.

I second that!

Mia Farrow chose to maintain her dignity. The same cannot be said about Ruth Gordon, who is always worth watching nonetheless.

Because she was smart ...thats why!!!
