Other Than Braless Chicks, What's The Appeal Of This Movie?

Isn't that enough ?

reply

Yes it is.

And the question remains.

Ah yes, Ms. Agutter in various states of dress and/or discomfort, makes me want to jump in there and rescue her.

It's vintage.
Watching on TCM....been awhile.

Hahaha! The way you phrased your question made me literally LOL!

reply

Yes, a nekkid Agutter. And also the thought that humanity dies a few weeks later from starvation. Doubtful The Old Man had enough walnuts for everyone, and I also doubt anyone would've thought to eat the cats. Laughs galore!

reply

The delicious cheesy effects of course!

NONE OF YOU thought a plot about society managed by AI Computers to balance population by providing every wish fulfillment until you get executed when you get to old, to be the most interesting point of Logan's Run?

reply

NO.

This was a movie I've always wanted to watch. Had it on my list for a long time and finally got around to it last night.

I really enjoyed it. It brought me back to when movies were made with a kind of innocence or naivete that I don't see much of today, if that makes any sense. The special effects, costumes, sets, etc, could never pass if Logan's Run were made today. As a movie-audience, we've become too sophisticated for our own good. We demand so much from our movie entertainment that studios are tripping over each other to put out blockbuster after blockbuster. We've become spoiled. Logan's Run harkens back to a time when good stories propelled a movie. Today, bad movies with bad stories get passed off as blockbusters if they mask their deficiencies with CGI and loud explosions.

Just my 2 cents. Oh, and the braless chicks sure didn't hurt.

SOOOOOO true and perfectly said.
Would be nice to have GOOD movies made again.

It's all about the almighty dollar. And Americans are much dumber than they've ever been, so movies with car chases and huge explosions without a story are popular. I bet there are millions of Americans who are waiting for the 18th "reboot" of Batman or Superman.

The movie provided entertainment and thought provoking discussion for people with brains. Too bad that by default you're left out.

reply

I guess for me it's nostalgia. The cheesy special effects and the ridiculous "futuristic" score are pretty entertaining.

For me, the movie starts to fall apart as soon as they leave the dome. Nothing happens. But you can see the shell of a really good story.
