I would say Mullholland Drive is a similar kind of film.

I have yet to see the Tenant, but just got it out on DVD and thematically it looks very similar to much of David Cronenberg's work, as it was before any of his major work there's a strong possibility it was an influence on him. But as I said I haven't seen The Tenant yet so I may be misreading it.

I already posted in this thread a year ago but check out The Machinist.

Obviously there's Rosemary's Baby and Repulsion by the same director, but I'd recommend Suspiria and Inferno by Dario Argento. They're horror films really - not psychological thrillers - but very bizarre and dreamlike, both with completely bonkers visual design and musical score.

Also Dead Ringers by David Cronenberg has a similar theme of blurred identities as it deals with identical twins who share an unhealthy connection, and become addicted to prescription drugs in an attempt to separate from one another.

Lastly, Don't Look Now by Nicolas Roeg is similar in its 1970s European setting, and contains some supernatural elements. It also has a very disjointed narrative and dreamy atmosphere. It's probably one of the strangest, and best films of that decade.
