The shot with weird proportions


I had to make this thread to make sure I'm not imagining this. There's definitely a shot where the proportions in Trelkovsky's room are way off, right? Like his chair is enormous as he walks by it. It seems pretty obvious but it's subtle enough to make me second guess it.

Yup it's towards the end and it appears he is shrinking. I just watched this for the first time last night and felt pretty sick after

Yes, that was a fantastically filmed scene. Subtle at first then the room elements seem to grow. Perfect cinematography throughout.

I think the bed must have been 3 - 4 meters long.

But I like the shot with the flat chair even more, when he tries to reach the bottle of water. I watched it and thought "huh, something was wrong".

Today they would have done it with CGI. I love these old tricks! :-)

I thought this was just me. I assumed it was some sort of lens thing.
