I Spit on Your Grave Connection

When I watched the last 15 minutes of Lipstick, for some reason, it made me think of I Spit on Your Grave 1978. The connection being two women who take violent revenge after being raped.

I wonder if women revenge fantasy films were popular in the late 70s. Do people know of other late 70s movies with this theme?

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

I still have not treated myself to "I Spit on Your Grave." That film is notorious for Siskel and Ebert's trashing when it came out.

This isn't really a revenge film, but I'd recommend Jack Hill's "Switchblade Sisters," also known as "The Jezebels." It about a girl gang, and it's sort of like a Russ Meyer film but with more violence than sex:

There's also "Born Innocent," which is another girls-gone-bad film. It's very powerful and graphic for a TV movie:

And in the '80s, there's "Extremities," with Farrah Fawcett getting even with her attacker:

umm.....yeah. It’s an entire subgenre of movies: “rape-revenge."
