Oh for Gods sake, not again!

It looks like some wag at the Sunday Times, (of all papers,) has got hold of the fact that this was released,(months ago,) and is creating a faux scandal about it. MPs seem keen to get involved, not that they have anything better to do, what with the shambolic state of the country. I can imagine the idiot Brown will seize the opportunity to create a distraction from his bungling ineptitude with a revamp of the fatuous Video Recordings act.

When you've got to shoot, shoot.Don't talk.

I know, I found this a bit strange. As I was about to head home today I saw one of the television screens in our uni that is always playing Sky News, and I noticed a headline scroll across the bottom: 'BBFC criticised for granting 18 certificate to film that glamourises nazism and sexual violence'. That's odd, I thought, I look at the BBFC website regularly and I haven't seen anything that fits that description pass through recently. When I got home I checked the BBFC site again, nothing there, a bit more searching and it turns out it's this! Some tenth-rate B-movie - hell, Z-movie - made in the 70s and released on video in the UK over a year ago! Where did this MP drag this one up from?

I hope this doesn't lead to another wave of idiots campaigning for stricter censorship. It seems to come in waves, and we're in the middle of one right now, what with this and the 'extreme pornography bill' that's been passed through (but massively under-reported). Generally I think the BBFC are doing an ok job at the moment and I mostly agree with their stances on things. It's rather frustrating seeing MPs and tabloid journalists who don't know what they're talking about try and tell the experts at the BBFC how to do their job.

The only reason I can think why this has been brought up now is because of the Holocaust Memorial Day business, although I don't see how digging up some old rubbish exploitation film helps anyone.

Radio 5 having a somewhat depressing phone in about all this right now. Hopefully it won't run and run.

What kind of things were people saying?

Well thankfully everyone seems to have forgotten about this. Daily Mail readers are easily distracted.
