How was Prescott able to figure out where Kong was going to go?

I mean The World Trade Center, kind of looks like those two stone walls from his island, but it seems like a million to one shot still and he seemed so sure.

Plus what makes him think he would climb to the top, since he never did that with the stone wall, on his native land?

He broke through the wall, he didn't need to climb over it.

Don't forget, Prescott is a primatologist. He probably has an understanding of how apes behave, especially when it comes to Kong, whom he cared for a lot.

He put two and two together; it wasn't just that the twin towers represented Kong's home, but that's where he took Dwan. If he were to go anywhere, it would have to be there. Apes aren't complicated animals.
