South Park?????

I was surprised to watch this movie and discover the origin of Mr. Imagination and the Imagination song in the South Park Imaginationland trilogy. I'm constantly surprised by the stuff they choose to spoof.

you know i was thinking the same thing when i saw the movie tonight i could not believe they made a very subtle reference to this movie

classic! I was watching this movie last night and thought the exact same thing!

Indeed- saw it last night and i was like "Snap!". one of the most obscure references out there, that's for sure.

I'm so glad someone else picked up on that! It didn't hit me until he started singing the imagination song. Every once in a while, the south park guys will throw in a "one-percenter" like that.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but though it seems like the Imaginationland guy from South Park and his song could have been inspired by The Killing of a Chinese Bookie, it was actually inspired by the Dreamfinder guy from EPCOT's Imagination pavilion at Disney World. Check this: http://forums.southpark.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=50842 and this video of the guy, the fat bearded guy in purple of course: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmm_PMCHRxc&t=0m52s.
