Hecuba' Demise-Explanations Welcome

Hecuba was a villian one could really hate.

I could see her demise as one that could fool viewers but here might be one way of seeing it.

Hecuba was a toy possessed by an evil spirit and had all the abilities to use magic unlike that musical toy that was mechanical and harmless (Only words did the harm).

The scene of being destroyed was dark and a little shocking. Maybe enough for a PG rating?

What was your feeling when the moment came when Hecuba was destroyed and Tulip saw somthing different as a result of his action.

A good tale of good overcoming evil. A chance to get away from the mushy side of children's tales

i was thinking WTF....but then again, =)...i was pretty young at that time.
As of today, i still think WTF.
LOL me and my sister also thought there was some other force in present.
We see all the dark magic disappear up in the sky (to heaven) as a black clowd when Hecuba dies. Maybe god simply forgot that place.
I never thought that Hecuba was the real mother to Tulip. He was only a dumb poor creature she raised on her own greedy needs. They both seems to like eating small children...one can wonder who learned Tulip to appreciate kind of "food". But who or what that conrolled Hecuba is out of my control.

I never understood that scene, but here is what I think now.

Hecuba wasn't crushed by Tulip's foot, she used her magic to put that toy there instead just as Tulip was gonna trample her.

Come on, here's a woman with magic spells and powers, why would she stand there and allow Tulip to tramble her to death?

Hence Tulip's reaction when he moves his foot and sees that he's only trampled the toy.

Hecuba is still alive...

I definately think that it was some sort of Tulip's self defense mechanism.. instead of seeing her body lying in blood he saw the toy which he had smashed once before

I like that one best. It would be like the second to last episode of MASH where Hawkeye is telling the story of the chicken on the bus, so the woman holding the chicken killed it. Then the chicken "turned into" a baby. Hawkeye subconsciously replaced the baby with a chicken. In fact when he remembered he said to Dr Sidney Friedman "you SOB how could you make me remember that?"

I think it was just a unique, ironic death scene, and a particularly fun one, thematically. Who would have guessed that when he finally actualized his dream of crushing Hecuba, the EXACT same thing would happen? The idea that she's so inhuman that she's full of clockwork is a really fun one.

Hecuba's trampeling has always mind boggled me. Faithfulcub's mentioning of her being a toy possessed by an evil spirit/witch is the best guess I have heard of what Hecuba really was. The smoke rising up for the castle was probably her spirit released from the toy, thus releasing the spell. That makes sense.

The first time i saw this as a kid i thought that Tulip had put the spell on the toy, but then i realized that that can't be right

She was an earlier version of a terminator, before even the 600 series.
