Did you notice…?

Did you notice that Princess Margaret's song "No One's Happier Than I" sounds eerily like the Carpenters' (who are very popular in Japan, I might add. "Top of the World"?

"You break his heart, I'll break your face."

Thank You!!!!
I thought I was going crazy. It's especially noticable in the bells/xylophone part. I just dismissed it as coincidence-but it is rather fitting being that she did live in a castle in the sky.

Top of the World was only released two years before Jack and the Beanstalk, in 1972, the influence would totally make sense.

totally noticed that. my whole life i've associated those 2 songs. glad i'm not the only one :)

"The man of my dreams has almost faded now."

I swear to God that's what my mother thought the song sounded like before I stumbled upon this message in the forum.

I never made the connection but now.... man that's crazy. I guess it would explain why I love both songs so much.

reply

Yeah and "being on top of the world" is an expression meaning happiness.

I've always thought that. :)

I haven't seen this movie in about 30 years... and it's only the referencing here of that song that I knew I found the right movie. :D

The song from The Wind Rises sounds a lot like Procol Harem.
