great acting

just lousy special effects.
however, the actors and actresses were grade A+

I'm not sure what you mean by lousy special effects, but I agree that the acting and cast are outstanding!

The acting was good especially Glynn Turman.

Yes, I came here to post the same thing! I loved the way he switched so well from being a nice guy to being the bastard JD Walker. Very impressive.
