Location where Hias sits, the two stone bridges above him?

I've tried without success to find out the location used in the beginning scenes where Hias is first speaking with the villagers -- where two stone bridges are visible above/behind him. The "Locations" section of this entry isn't particularly descriptive, either.

Does anyone know for certain if it's a real location, or if it's a composite shot (or some other special effect)?

It's a real location. It's located just outside of Bavaria in Switzerland. Herzog said it is "a very famous ravine." Though, I don't know what it's called.
