This film is proof that CGI is not necessary for frights!!

This film was creepy in ways you don't see anymore. The scares come from facial expressions, music, etc. not horrible CGI.
Another favorite film in this likeness is "Carnival of Souls". Wonderfully creepy film!!

"full circle" is a masterpiece...i watched again this week some scenes of this film, the ending is really one of my favourite scenes of all time!
the "dream" scene where Olivia's hand touches Julia's face is creepy and haunting too!
it's right that the fear in this film comes from facial expressions, use of music and silence...Olivia's stare is so creepy,in the asylum scene and in the last scene where she's approaching Julia.

i really hope that Hollywood will never make a remake of this film!!

I third that motion. I never want to see a remake of this film -- though I'd love to see a quality DVD release of it, because the $1.50 tape I bought from a thrift store had a rolling picture for half the film.

The score was phenomenal, and the acting was superb. Watching this film was like reading a well-crafted novel, where you draw your own impressions of the characters based on your reality, rather than having Hollywood dumb it down for you.
