They say that even most medical professionals should never attempt one, never mind a panicked everyday mom like her.
I know we see Kate begin to pass out, but could she have lived till the medics got there?

I agree, and it is sad that she suffers. As a mom, I can understand the guilt. I think it would eat away at any parent in that situation.. If it didn't completely drive you crazy, you'd always be wondering if you had done the right thing.
