Oh, and why no Dvd either?
One of the best documentaries ever and an Oscar Winner to boot and no dvd release. I'd love to see somebody like Criterion give this the treatment it deserves.

shareDidn't a restored print make its rounds of the festival circuit last year? Now would seem the perfect time for the DVD.
shareI didn't hear about the restored print. I'd love to see it though. I did submit it as a title suggestion to Criterion. I'm not gonna hold my breath for them to acquire it though.
shareA new, restored, print is going into circulation and is listed as a Janus/Criterion property. This bodes well for the possibility of a Criterion DVD.

I heard somewhere that the film is being re-released in selected theaters in the U.S. with a newly restored picture. DVD on the way...?
sharei would like to see this on dvd.i recall that the vhs that i saw was very grainy and probably needs restoration.it is a very powerful doc and deserves to be re-released.on a different subject does anyone recall a doc about the hormel strike in wisconsin,or the 8 ladies from the bank strike in minnesota
shareBuck the movie is naturally grainey and has lighting problems. You have to realize this movie had no fancy lighting or retakes, They had one time to shoot and as I said no retakes for a better quality film much of the film has an amaturish look about it.....Carl
shareI'm trying to find a copy of this film, no luck anywhere yet in the UK on VHS or DVD. Anybody know different? Thanks
No clue about the UK but I would say it is availible from Amazon.com (not to advertise for the company) here in Harlan County it is availible at the local video/dvd rental store.
