Special Edition DVD is an EXTENDED CUT!!!

Just got the new 2-disc special edition of Grizzly, and it's extended from the version on the Media VHS and the previous DVD release. The previous version clocks in at about 1:29:00. The new DVD runs 1:30:53. Plus, on the back cover the rating of the DVD says "NOT RATED".

The most notable addition is the discovery of Scotty's body. In the previous version, just as Kelly and Don are arriving where Scooty is, the scene quickly cuts to the helicopter flying over the mountains. In the new DVD, they arrive at the scene, Scotty's dead body is shown (back ripped out), then Kelly and don have some dialogue about what to do with Scotty's body. Then you see the helicopter take off and start flying away. In total, this scene adds about 00:01:05 of footage.

Some of the kills seem a little longer as well, namely Sally and the boy and his mom.

Plus, with the 2:35 to 1 aspect ratio, you see SO MUCH more picture. It's like a whole new movie. The blood is also much redder!

The second disc has some great featurettes on it. Grizzly finally is getting the respect it has earned.

Anyway, if you're a fan of Grizzly, then you owe it to yourself to get this set immediately.

I had the Media VHS tape as well, I think what happened was media just dropped the ball somehow, and this same print was transferred on to the american Liberty bell dvd, though not on the Liberty bell Japanese dvd, which comes with a cool rare poster insert card BTW....In the 80's on ABC and TBS, the airings included this version.....Interestingly (in New York) at that time....There was a local station called Channel 9 (WWOR-TV) now UPN......They showed the movie completely uncut on several occasions only muting the curse words......on it's first night TV showing on ABC in 1980 "The Friday nite move" it was cut severely and had the new title "Killer Grizzly".

Really? This is the first I'm hearing of this.

What poster art did it have? Did it have a menu? Did the print look any better? I always thought the Nutech DVD was absolutely horrific.

And I was wondering about the KILLER GRIZZLY cut.. what all was missing from it? Are there any existing copies?
