'Jaws with Paws'

No offense, but the above reviewer obviously didn't see this movie when it came out. It was billed as "Jaws with Paws".

The poster and ads said it's 18 feet tall. But in the movie they say it's 15 feet tall. When in actuality the real bears used in this movie were 11 and 7 foot tall.

That was a time when most movies always exagerrated to try and get more interest.

Still, I enjoyed this movie. It was fun and pure escapism.

You're right, Alan, when you consider a 2 story house may be about 20 feet tall @ certain points, the idea of an 18 foot tall Grizzly really does sound kind of far-fetched!
They DO say '15 feet' in the movie, yet another one of the ads or posters I remember, verbatim, was "18 Feet of Gut -crunching, Man-eating Terror"!
SO, there ya go! And maybe the 'Jaws with paws' thing was added after it had been released? I don't know. I just know they were trying to cash in on the Jaws reference! haha - but, it was a fun movie in the day. I have it on video though, not dvd.

Either a mistake made by the producers, or probably that 15 feet referred to the length, and 18 was how tall the bear was when he stood up.

The 15 feet was the grizzly standing up.

The way Scott knew how tall it was was by seeing how high the claw marks were on trees when it was marking it's territory.

Exaggerate for people's interest. GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS posters said Godzilla stood 400 feet tall, when in the Japanese version I think he was only around 50 feet tall. Explains why in KING KONG VS GODZILLA, he's the same height as Kong.
