There are many cases of bears entering tents, houses and campers, dragging the victim out and killing them. Bears devouring victims. Bears killing people near a water fall. A bear stalking and killing 3 boys. Bears dragging victims long distances.
No limbs being "slapped" off (or horse's head, haha), but this movie is not as far fetched as I originally thought.
Bears have killed people. Who said they didn't?

This is all true but the movie left out three very important things: How the bear became so large, why it came into the park and why it started killing humans. This last item would have given the bear some sympathy. The novel, written after the movie, provided such details and the movie should have been immediately edited to include all these details. It still should.
